I just thought somebody should let people know (since dA apparently forgot to), in case some were eager to advertise the calendar sale to their friends and relatives...

2 sales = profit $0.00

Note: this is with a Standard Print Account, I don't know how it goes with a Premium Subscription Print Account.
Note2: I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, I'm not allowed to post news in Prints.

Now that's weird, I just ordered 2 more (of the Robin Hobb one), and this time I got profits. Apparently it's just one order that slipped through. I'm going to write dA's helpdesk about it.

This is a valid and interesting point you make.... it's not about not making ALOT of money off a sale. Most art doesn't.
It's about most of the loss going to the Deviant, and not Deviant Art, which is hurtful and somewhat unfair.

aww Crooty that's really not fair!

Thanks for pointing that out, I guess it's not worth putting one together and selling it here. :(

I'm not really complaining about the money loss in itself, it's more of a matter of principle!

I never expected to make a fortune, I was glad I could share and allow people to make gifts if they like my art. So if it makes you happy to put one together, I think you should do it anyway!

I'm wondering Crooty, do you have another place to sell your art but that would be in Europe, so maybe the postage fees were not that high for us here?

Just a question I had because I tried to buy your NZ calendar and was a bit apalled to see the different postage fees.

So I guess I'll wait my next paycheck. Hee.

Yes I've been looking here and there, but it generally amounts to the same price (I've tried Migros and ifolor for example, but the calendars are usually more expensive and most of the time you can't control the layout).

Yes I've tried to lookout a bit but didn't come out with anything yet.
Snapfish has a great calendar layout program, the only problem is, it's only for 'you' and not really to sell your stuff. But I'm still looking. ;)

In the same vein, there's also [link].

aha, yeah thanks, it happens that I tried out this one too along with Snapfish recently but their shipping fees are so much more expensive. But the photo quality was good, although a bit too light for my taste. :D

I hope you had a nice time for the holidays.
