This is an illustration of The Crane Wife, sung by The Decemberists, inspired by the Japanese folk tale "Tsuru no Ongaeshi".
I really wanted to make something very minimalistic, with clear lines and a limited colour palette (7).
Done in Illustrator, about 3-4 hours.
