Sweethearts...

This is an illustration of one of my favourite passages of Assassin's Apprentice, because it creates such a strong image. I can sit down next to them and feel the wind and the sea spray, I can hear the gulls in the air up above and the waves crashing on the cliffs down below.

Now that it's done I realize the sense of scale is wrong: those cliffs should look much higher...

I also struggled a lot with Painter. The colours are a tad garish for my liking.

EDIT: added a seagull to accentue depth, according to TomScribble's clever suggestion, and shifted the water hue a little, following dragonladych's smart advice (although the sea was actually amost purple when I was in Mallorca 18 years ago , I know, I did stare at it quite a bit, in my New Wave teenager's melancholy ).
