Description
With its 196 meters, Glymur was considered Iceland's highest waterfall until very recently, scientists measured a newly-discovered waterfall on the edge of Morsárjökull glacier at about 228 meters. This new waterfall has yet to be named as I type this.
The way to the top of Glymur is a beautiful, yet difficult 3-hour hike (return). You earn that view by going through a cave, crossing a river on a tree trunk, crossing scree slopes, climbing rock faces… totally worth it, though!
